Safeguarding

Summerfields Primary Academy is committed to providing a safe and secure environment for children, staff and visitors whilst promoting a climate where children and adults will feel confident about sharing any concerns which they may have for their own safety or the well-being of others. For more information please see our safeguarding policy.

It is everybody's responsibility to make sure children and young people feel safe and cared for. It is important that you know who to speak to if you are concerned about ANY child in or out of school. Passing on information could help to safeguard young people and should not be seen as interfering.

Our designated safeguarding lead is the Head Teacher - Mrs Lisa Tabbner.

In the absence of Mrs Tabbner, our deputy safeguarding leads are: Mr Marsh and Mrs Wakefield.

You can speak to members of staff in confidence about any issues regarding the safety and well-being of children.

Useful contact numbers

If the child is in danger

Call the police on 999 or (01142) 202020.

If the child is not at risk of immediate harm

If you're concerned about a child, but they're not in immediate danger, it's still important to share the information with social care as soon as possible.

If your call is not urgent contact the Assessment Service on (01226) 772423. Offices are open between Monday and Friday from 9am to 5pm.
